In the realm of industrial production, wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have seen extensive application. This paper addresses the significant localization errors associated with traditional DV-Hop algorithms by proposing an enhanced DV-Hop localization method that utilizes the Spider Wasp Optimization (SWO) algorithm. We enhance hop count estimation by incorporating a weighting factor derived from the number of neighboring nodes, thereby optimizing each hop distance estimation to improve localization accuracy. Second, SWO replaces the traditional least squares method for estimating unknown node positions, improving calculation accuracy. Simulation experiments were conducted to compare our algorithm with three improved DV-Hop algorithms. The results show that our approach is significantly better than the conventional DV hop algorithm.
