We have characterized the properties of a commercial liquid crystal spatial light modulator (SLM), and succeeded in shaping femtosecond pulses at a desired time with a specific phase using the SLM. The SLM used is a 1.3 inch active-matrix twisted nematic (TN) liquid crystal panel with 640 (horizontal) /spl times/ 480 (vertical) pixels.
