As one of the most widely used wireless networking technologies, the IEEE 802.11 or Wi-Fi has been attracting enormous attention, and as a result, the access points (APs) are becoming densely deployed to support heavy traffic demands. However, such densely deployed APs also cause significant interference problems. For interference management, overlapped basic service set/packet detection (OBSS/PD) is recently added to the IEEE 802.11ax standard. In this paper, we propose a transmission opportunity-based distributed OBSS/PD threshold determination method to enhance the fairness among nodes. The simulation results show that the proposed method improves the fairness performance while mitigating interference.
