The scalability and cascadability of cw-multipass amplifier for high-average-power femtosecond pulse is discussed. A single stage module using Ti:sapphire with the 4.2-times small-signal gain and 10.6% extraction efficiency is demonstrated to deliver 5.77-W femtosecond pulses.
