Durres Port is Albania's biggest commercial port. The port has significantly increased cargo handling volume over the last two decades. In 2022, the overall volume of seaborne cargoes in Albania peaked at 6 248 000 tons, of which 5 975 432 tons (combined with new capacities at Romano Port- tons), or 95,6%, were handled at Durres Port. The container terminal handled about 1753126 tons or 39,5% of the port's total volume. Terminal limitation appeals for improved performance indicators such as the ship waiting Time at arrival, terminal idle Time, daily handling rate, etc. This paper analyzes the main indicators of container terminals and identifies the potential for facing future traffic challenges. Methodology: Performance indicators will be analyzed through statistics, paired t-tests will be calculated, and multiple linear regression will be run. T-test and multiple linear regression revealed that the overall Time a ship spends in port is significantly affected by ship size, ship waiting Time at the pilot station, and idle Time at berth. The indicators are based on the World Bank Container Port Performance Index Report. Conclusion: The research offers a clear understanding of the key indicators that need to be improved to face the increasing traffic volume of the terminal.
