This research offers a closed-loop high gain non-isolated DC-DC boost converter for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs). The converter incorporates the primary properties of both the Quadratic Boost as well as Cuk converter. The evaluation and simulation of the closed-loop high gain non-isolated DC-DC boost converter are addressed as well in this study. Simulation is performed with MATLAB SIMULINK and the results demonstrate that this converter can achieve high voltage (350V) with low voltage at the input (48V), which is necessary to control the load. PI Controller is applied for a better performance of the converter. The variations in the resultant voltage, peak-to-peak value and overshoot in an open-loop and a closed-loop are shown as well. This converter delivers high gain at low duty cycle and lower voltage stress, which makes it suited for Plug-in Electric Vehicles.
