The aviation industry is one of the most dynamic sectors, with safety and quality of service dependent on skilled aircraft maintenance personnel. European legislation, in particular Regulation (EC) No 2042/2003 and subsequently Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014, lays down the rules for maintenance and licensing of technicians. The Part-66 system defines licenses for different aircraft types, with B1 and B2 licenses being key. Continuous education and training of personnel is mandatory to ensure they are competent to work with new technologies. Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/989 introduced changes, including an increase in the number of test questions in each module. Certification of organizations providing Part-147 training is essential for safety and quality of instruction. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the introduction of distance learning in the training of aviation technical personnel. In NATO, EMAR regulations, based on civilian standards, adapted to military conditions, are important for military personnel. In Slovakia, the TUKE Faculty of Aviation is a key entity integrating EMAR into the training of military technicians. Training of personnel according to EMAR ensures interoperability and a high level of quality in the maintenance of military aircraft.
