An experimental system for decision support in traffic management centers is presented. Its aim is to support traffic operators in executing coordinated control in traffic control centers. The system contains the simulation model METANET, as well as an automatically constructed historical database, and is connected to a real-time traffic detection system. The design of the decision support system is outlined and preliminary results are shown.
