Sensors are susceptible to failure during operation, which can significantly impact the safety of the aeroengine systems. In this article, a sensor fault interval estimation method and an accommodation method with hybrid compensator are proposed for the aeroengine system with linear parameter-varying model based on zonotopic approaches. The zonotopic Kalman estimator (ZKE) is designed to reconstruct the sensor faults, obtain the interval estimations of the state and fault, and eliminate the limitations of the Kalman filter's assumption of Gaussian white noise. Moreover, a hybrid compensator is proposed to minimize the chattering problem of the sliding mode control. The switching threshold is designed by using fault interval estimation to make the system adopt state feedback control in the fault-free situation. Furthermore, the zonotopic robust sliding mode control (ZRSMC) is utilized in the fault situation. The optimal parameters of the ZRSMC controller are designed using the ZKE to ensure a seamless switching process and attenuate chattering. The stability and asymptotic convergence of the closed-loop system have been strictly proved. Finally, a twin-rotor aeroengine hardware-in-the-loop platform is utilized to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme and its potential application in aeronautical engineering.
