In contrast to the traditional satellite industry based on missions made up of one or few identical satellites, building hundreds of satellites for large constellations requires innovation and the implementation of radical changes in the design, manufacturing and assembly of the satellites and their components. The OneWeb constellation is made up of 648 satellites to provide affordable internet worldwide with 542 satellites launched as of January 2023. In light of the development and deployment of this constellation, and more particularly in light of the first On-Board-Computer developed by Airbus dedicated to large constellations, named Amethyst, this digest is addressing the way the space industry has adapted to these recent major evolutions., Additionally, this digest paper will address the new and upcoming challenges.
