High speed, ultrahigh resolution OCT retinal imaging using spectral/Fourier detection enables /spl sim/2 um axial resolutions and /spl sim/24,000 axial scans/second. These high speeds and resolutions achieve dramatic improvements in image quality and enable 3D OCT imaging.
