In this paper, we present the results of the laser heating minipedestal crystal growth (LPHG) in oxidizing atmosphere for Nd/sup 3+/-and Er/sup 3+/-doped monocrystal fibers based on the YAG, Y/sub 2/O/sub 3/ and ZrO/sub 2/-Y/sub 2/O/sub 3/ (fianit) hosts. The experiments, for the determination of optical properties and laser characteristics in the crystal fibers, were carried out.
