This letter reports the wavelength up-conversion of picosecond pulses by four-wave mixing (FWM) in a quantum-dash semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA) operating near 1550 nm. The conversion efficiency is measured up to 3.9-THz detuning, and a maximum of -18 dB is achieved up to 2.5 THz. Results show that quantum-dash SOAs achieve relatively efficient wavelength conversion at large detuning.
