Based on fuzzy interval theory, this paper has proposed a freeway traffic safety assessment model, which integrates the accident-prone points, freeway line and freeway network, and from the “point — line — surface” level to combine the multi-source data. The regional freeway network traffic safety evaluation index system is established, and the nine specific evaluation indicators are quantitatively analyzed, including the traffic flow parameters, security parameters and meteorological parameters of three criterion levels. Combining with the fuzzy interval theory, this paper has adopted [0, 1] interval theory to build the regional freeway network traffic safety performance interval assessment model. Finally, Jilin Province freeway network is taking as an example to apply the proposed model and the effectiveness and practicality of the model is demonstrated. This research can provide a reference for regional freeway multi-source data fusion and improve freeway traffic safety in China.
