Unmanned aerial vehicles have been the subject of several studies, from the design of different structural configurations to modeling and unconventional control strategy. The reason for the interest in drones lies in the flexibility that this vehicle class provides in solving problems in various applications. One of the most studied and commercially available configurations is the quadcopter due its low cost and ease of running trajectories in confined spaces. This paper presents the design of a testbed prototype of an unmanned micro-quadcopter, addressing key points such as specification, modeling, control, simulation, construction and improvements. Testbed prototypes are used in aircraft design as a path to assess specific issues of designs before its final production. The goal of this project is to develop a research platform that allows the study of advanced control techniques in autonomous flight.
