The continuously growing impact of Remotely Piloted Air Systems (RPAS) on our everyday lives is explained by their rapidly expanding application spheres. In some of those applications several vehicles working synchronously, i.e. RPAS swarm, may provide more benefits in comparison with a single vehicle. One of the technical challenges to be solved in order to ensure safe and efficient operations of RPAS swarms is to provide reliable and fast communication channel. This is needed to provide the same level awareness about actions and plans of the vehicles to each other. Satellite communication channel should be able to solve this task. To confirm it, simulation studied are done in this paper. For modelling of RPAS satellite traffic models of communication channel “Base Station - Satellite - RPAS” were built using NetCracker Professional 4.1 software. Dependencies of the Average Utilization on the Transaction Size, satellite links with different bandwidths and RPAS number, and effect of satellite Fail Chance were analyzed.
