Transportation supports people's daily mobility activities and continues to have innovations. Vehicles that use fossil fuels are feared to worsen air quality further. Battery-based electric vehicles have the potential to become sustainable transportation and achieve the net zero emission target. This study used PLS-SEM with SmartPLS software to test data from 254 respondents. The study results show that attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, moral norms, and policy consistency influence the intention to adopt electric vehicles. Meanwhile, environmental concern variables that cover environmental issues do not affect significantly because other factors are considered not environmentally friendly, such as electrical energy resources used for charging. Most power plants in Indonesia still use coal, which is unrenewable. Various parties' roles are urgently needed to support the increase in the transition to electric vehicle use, including support for using renewable green energy as a power source for battery charging. This study enriches the electric vehicles (EVs) sector by clarifying consumer attitudes and optimizing marketing techniques. The findings provided a comprehensive demonstration for future inquiries on sustainable consumption, electric vehicles, electric vehicle purchase intention, and the extended theory of planned behavior.
