With the development of China's economy, the scale of air transport industry is getting larger and larger, and its carbon emissions are growing faster. Analyzing the influencing factors of the carbon emissions in air transport industry can provide a reference for the government to make policies of controlling the carbon emissions in air transport industry. Based on the calculation of the carbon emissions in China's air transport industry from 1998 to 2019, this paper adopts Laspeyres complete index decomposition method to analyze the influencing factors of the carbon emissions in air transport industry. The results show that economic output effect, transportation intensity effect and population size effect all play a positive role in promoting the growth of the carbon emissions in air transport industry. Among them, economic output effect provides the strongest promotion, followed by transportation intensity effect, and population size effect provide the least promotion. However, the energy intensity effect can restrain the carbon emissions in air transport industry.
