The accidental islanding formation should be identi-fied and subsequently the distributed generators in the islanded microgrid is supposed to be shut down as per various inter-national standards. In this work, an indirect communication is established through the q-axis current controller from the disturbance injection module. The mean of frequency deviation, disturbance injection module, circuit breaker status at the sub-station altogether are used to detect the islanding formation. The non-essential of wired communication nullifies the need of higher initial investment. The proposed strategy detects the islanding condition accurately, and also discerns the non-islanding from the islanding conditions accurately. The proposed strategy is having zero non-detection zone and the islanding detection time of less than 180ms. The proposed strategy is expounded for various operating conditions in the MATLAB/Simulink 2024a.
