This study explored the effectiveness of the recently introduced variable message signs (VMSs), at the major axes leading to the capital Beirut, on driver behavior. It aims to evaluate the possible response of the drivers to VMS when used for messages related to traffic and driving conditions. Funding for the screens came from a grant by the EU, upon a request from the Traffic Management Authority in Lebanon.
