This paper presents a two-stage boost five-level T-Type inverter for PV applications. The proposed model is built with the combinations of three-level boost converter and five-level T-Type inverter for single-phase system. The complete operation of the boost converter and T-Type inverter for level generation is presented. The performance of the proposed model was evaluated in a MATLAB/Simulink environment for a wide range of input voltage changes as well as load changes. The importance of the level generation in terms of %THD has also been discussed for different modulation indices. Moreover, a comparison is also made to highlight the merits of the proposed model vis-á-vis other five-level inverter topologies.
