Wearing a motorcycle helmet reduces accident fatalities by almost one-third (29 percent). Presently, head injury is a leading cause of death in motorcycle crashes. Riders who don't wear helmets and who experience a crash are 40 percent more likely to sustain a fatal head injury. The proposed system includes a helmet controlled safety system wherein the motorcycle ignition is enabled only when the helmet is put on and stand is removed. This system also incorporates other features like Global Positioning System; automatic head light control and Real time display. Such features serve as the rider aids. The GPS tracker used in our system forwards the co-ordinates that indicate the current location of the motorcycle in case it is stolen or it has to be tracked.
