Energy levels positions of Au I atoms in the range of principal quantum number n=25-36 for Rydberg series S/sub 1/2/ and P /sub 1/2,3/2/ are measured with high accuracy by means of laser-microwave spectroscopy in 105-300 GHz frequency range. Quantum defect constants for these series are obtained. P-terms fine structure in the n=14-36 quantum number range is investigated. LS-splitting constants for P-terms are obtained. The description of a spectrometer, measurement technique and results is submitted.
