Road accidents provide substantial difficulties in hilly terrains because of the steep elevation and poor visibility. The introduction of LoRa technology provides the benefit of far-reaching communication, making it appropriate for isolated and hilly regions with sparse network coverage. Additionally, LoRa’s low power consumption ensures that the accident monitoring system operates effectively and for a long time without the need to frequently change batteries. Several in-the-wild testing on hilly highways were carried out to gauge the monitoring system’s performance. The outcomes showed its precise recognition abilities and its capacity to quickly inform drivers for reducing the risk of accidents in difficult uphill terrain. To improve road safety in mountainous places, this study suggests a new model by combining Long Range(LoRa) connectivity, an Ultrasonic Sensor, and NodeMCUESP8266 microcontroller. The main goal of the proposed system is to identify automobiles on the path ahead and send real-time data such as traffic signal to drivers in order to help them avoid possible accidents and risks.
