In conclusion, we have demonstrated a six-wavelength laser array with an integrated amplifier and modulator designed for transmission of a single selectable wavelength. The single step printed gratings provided /spl Lambda//4-shifted DFB lasers with average channel spacing of 200 GHz. Laser thresholds were approximately 20 mA, and output powers of several mW were available from all six lasers through the modulator at an amplifier drive of 75 mA.
