Power transformer and distribution transformer are the supreme, principal device and heart of the electrical power system. The interturn fault are most common incipient fault occurs in the transformer due to insulation failure between turns also this fault will decreases the life, reduce breakdown strength of insulating oil. In this study we design method to recognition the turn to turns fault in transformer by flux based linking strategy. A 1KVA, 415V/415V $\Delta/\mathbf{Y}$ distribution transformer especially designs so we insert search coil inside each limb of transformer winding. During normal the flux linking will be same across each search coil. But when interturn fault occurs in any limb, flux density in this area of core changes, this changing flux density is sensed by search coil and further used for detecting faults. By using this system we find out the actual location of occurrence of fault inside the transformer.
