The topic of this paper is the investigation of methods to reduce target range glint in pulsed radar systems. To characterize and explore the range glint phenomenon, mathematical expressions of candidate frequency diversity HRR waveforms, range distributed target models, and range centroid estimation were developed using computer modeling to simulate target range glint. Error analysis/comparison of the statistical output of these candidate frequency diversity HRR waveform models illustrated their relative abilities to reduce range glint.
