We have demonstrated the multicasting capability of a 100-Gb/s OTDM interconnect with a maximum reconfiguration time of 3.2 ns. By incorporating multicasting into the highly scalable interconnect, we have demonstrated that this OTDM broadcast-and-select architecture is functionally equivalent to a fully connect crossbar switch. We believe the rich subset of multicasting channels simultaneously accessible from a simple node transmitter design enable the interconnect to route high bandwidth server applications such as multi-conference video for the Next Generation Internet.
