This article presents a new edge detection method for gray level images by morphological operators and fuzzy reasoning. The method concerns edge gradient magnitude in images by various morphological operators as fuzzy membership functions. A fuzzy reasoning acrobatic coupled with few rules was then acquired for edge sharpening. The whereabouts merit of good edge detection was compared and the experimental results show the efficiency of sharpening and edge detection.
