As cities around the world embrace smart mobility solutions to address transportation challenges, it is crucial to engage citizens in the development and implementation of these initiatives. Smart city mobility encompasses a range of technologies and strategies aimed at improving transportation efficiency, reducing congestion and emissions, and enhancing accessibility for all residents. However, without meaningful citizen engagement, these solutions run the risk of failing to meet the diverse needs and priorities of the community. This paper explores various approaches to facilitating effective citizen participation in smart city mobility planning and decision-making processes. It examines best practices for gathering citizen input through public forums, surveys, and digital platforms, as well as strategies for incorporating this feedback into policy and project development. The paper also discusses the importance of transparency, education, and capacity-building to empower citizens to make informed contributions. By fostering a collaborative and inclusive approach, cities can ensure that smart mobility solutions are tailored to the unique contexts and aspirations of their communities, ultimately leading to more sustainable, equitable, and citizen-centric urban transportation systems.
