The behaviour of attenuation losses in CPWs is studied for quasi planar transmission lines with constant characteristic impedance (Zo) and resistivity, having different geometries. Minimisation of loss for a chosen substrate thickness, conductivity and Zo is analysed. A sensitivity analysis for effective dielectric constant with respect to gap width, strip width, dielectric constant and substrate height, is presented.
