Accurate detection of the refueling drogue is crucial and will have a vital impact on the success rate of in-flight fueling. In this paper, the problem of drogue detection was considered as moving object detection. An embedded, fast and efficient method based on GIGE Vision camera and DSP platform was proposed for drogue detection. Firstly, the image data was acquired from camera with a tidy GIGE protocol, then the CamShift target tracking algorithm was realized based on DSP platform. The experimental results show that the proposed design not only meets the requirements of small size and light weight, but also improves the anti-jamming capacity where processing speed of 20ms can be realized.
