In this paper, we investigate the performance of two different MIMO modulation schemes, namely, generalised spatial modulation (GSM) and spatial multiplexing (SMP) of an indoor visible light communication system (VLC) for both LOS and NLOS (Diffused reïections) scenario by considering verticalandangulardetectors.InGSM,weconsidertwodif ferent activation patterns to show the impact of antenna selection on BER performance. In addition, we show that angular detectors outperform vertical detectors in terms of BER. Furthermore, we study the effect of ïeld of view (FOV) on the performance of angular detectors. In order to analyse the impact of activation patternathighSNR,weusenormalisedminimumdistancemet ric for different receiver structure in an indoor environment.
