Emergency situations in a mining environment have the potential for the loss of human life. Tracking mobile assets and personnel can significantly improve the safety of all miners. Existing distributive localization algorithms are not well suited for a mobile asynchronous mine environment. We propose the Mobile Cooperative Localization Algorithm (MCLA) to increase the accuracy and number of nodes which are localized. The proposed algorithm has been validated through simulation using ns-3 and demonstrates an increase in accuracy for a mobile distributed environment.
