Electric vehicles are going to be a significant load on the existing distribution system, which may lead to unexpected peak loads and rapid fluctuations of power grid. In order to keep the plug-in hybrid vehicles from causing harmful new peaks, a new method is presented for the management of Electric Vehicle(EV) charging along with other domestic load operations in a renewable energy integrated domestic infrastructure. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology was evaluated using simulated case studies. The study indicates that the proposed load shifting program provides annual electricity bill savings to the consumer and the utility benefits from the reduction in peak demand by using demand side management in the domestic sector.
