This paper analyzes the direct and quadrature axis inductance of permanent magnet synchronous motors based on the non-power invariant transformation in Park’s transformation. Considering coupling and high-order harmonics, a mathematical model of the stator winding of the permanent magnet synchronous motor is established, and the expressions of the d- and q- axis inductance of the motor are analytically calculated and compared with the equivalent inductance. The accuracy of the calculation is verified by finite element simulation, using both transient and static magnetic field methods.
