Advanced target acquisition systems are characterized by multiple sensors, automatic target cuers and recognizers, and advanced human-system interface technologies. System design decisions are required to balance system capability, crew workload, and cost/schedule/risk development constraints. This paper reports on the demonstration of system prototyping in the conceptual design and assessment of the human-system interface for an air-to-surface, multiple sensor, target acquisition system. Four avionics concepts were included in the demonstration.<>
