As core section in continuing airworthiness work, the assessment of the civil aircraft safety status plays a decisive role on aircraft safety operation. To effectively confirm the safety status of civil aircraft, a novel method was proposed on the basis of Index Fuzzy Segmentation (IFS) model and MOORA plus the full multiplicative form (MULTIMOORA). Firstly, the IFS model is used to transform the aircraft safety status assessment problem into a multiple attribute decision making problem. Secondly, the aircraft safety status was obtained by means of the MULTIMOORA method. Finally, utilizing the service difficulty report (SDR) data of domestic A320 Type from 2016 to 2018, it carried out an empirical evaluation on their safety status. The results showed that the proposed approach can effectively confirm the safety status of civil aircraft and provide a novel way for the safety status evaluation of civil aircraft.
