Photorefractive crystals such as BaTiO/sub 3/, LiNbO/sub 3/, SBN, BSO, GaAs, InP are efficient nonlinear optical media for the generation of phase conjugate waves, multi-wave mixing and the recording of dynamic holograms. Nonlinear optics using these materials offers unique capabilities in parallel processing of information. This paper discusses recent advances in optical computing using photorefractive nonlinear media. Specifically, we discuss our results on parallel matrix-matrix processors, and spectrally parallel logic operations.<>
