We have experimentally demonstrated efficient second harmonic generation of 532 nm from polarization maintaining Yb-doped CW fiber laser using periodically-poled lithium niobate. The scheme is simple and we have achieved an efficiency of approximately 4 %/W in the low input power limit. The second harmonic efficiency above the operating power level of 2.5 W saturated due to the significant broadening of the laser spectrum beyond the phase-matching bandwidth.
