Based on the analysis of WiFi signal intensity distribution model and the attenuation law of the enhanced wireless AcessPoint (AP), an angle tracking algorithm based on Kalman filter for flight prediction of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is proposed. The motor controls the turntable, and the location of UAV is tracked with WiFi directional gain antenna, thus high communication quality and continuous stability are achieved either with single AP access or switching between multiple APs. Simulation and flight tests are implemented, which verify that the WiFi signal can cover 500 meters with 132.17ms average communication delay and 821.24ms cross AP flight communication switching delay, and the communication bandwidth is steady to be 20 Mbps.
