On the basis of the Compass geostationary navigation satellite program, the paper gives the preliminary orbit design of hybrid navigation constellation considering the satellite visibility and geometric dilution of precision (GDOP). The simulation results show that positioning accuracy of the hybrid constellation is significantly higher than GPS and Galileo, especially for China, its surroundings and high latitudes areas considering the same measuring precision of the pseudorange. The orbit design can meet the need of global and regional navigation.
