In recent years, academic and commercial developments on electric vehicles have increased. One of the significant cases in electric vehicles is operating the induction motor used in the vehicle above its nominal speed. In addition to operating the induction motor at high speeds, it is desirable to have a high performance. In this study, the operation of the induction motor above the nominal speed, which is an important case for electric vehicles, and increasing its performance have been studied. Flux weakening has been performed with Model Predictive Control (MPC). Thus, the induction motor has been successfully operated well above its nominal speed. However, as a result of the control with MPC, improvement in motor torque, speed and current is required. For this reason, Fuzzy Logic Speed Control (FLSC) method has been used in this study. When the motor current, flux, speed and torque are examined, it is seen that the FLSC method used increases the system performance considerably.
