A method of voltage detection specific to single-phase dynamic voltage restorer based on double closed-loops of proportional-resonant controllers is proposed for the fundamental wave extraction. The circuit topology and control strategy of dynamic voltage restorer are established to provide the basics for the design of voltage detection. To ensure the dynamic voltage compensation performance of digital control, analyze the discretization of proportional-resonant controller and filters. Focus on the improved method of extracting fundamental voltage and develop a 10 kW prototype. Based on the experiments of the prototype, the results prove that this strategy is easy to implement and has a good performance on voltage detection and compensation.
