An optical delay line (ODL) employing an arrayed-waveguide grating (AWG) in a fold-back configuration is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. it offers crosstalk reduction, loss-imbalance and complementary delays as compared with a previously reported loop-back AWG-based ODL.
