Switched reluctance machine (SRM) has low cost and good performance in hostile environments and high temperatures. These characteristics made it suitable for applications as electric vehicle. However, its difficult control is a disadvantage for this purpose. In this paper a fuzzy control strategy for switched reluctance machine applied for an integrated started-generator is presented. The inputs are the generated power error and its variation, and the output is the switching angle of the machine drive. The results are encouraging, although they are still provisional and we have to improve the control.
