In this paper, a distributed adaptive fuzzy sliding mode controller (DAFSMC) is designed for a cyber physical based islanded AC microgrid (MG) system. The sliding mode controller is designed for tracking the nominal voltage of the distributed generators (DGs). To deal with the uncertainties and external disturbances in the system, an adaptive fuzzy controller is proposed. The adaptation laws are derived based on Lyapunov theory that adjust the DAFSMC parameters for robust performance. The controller adopts graph theory in its design that does not require global information. However, it needs local information from neighbouring DGs. The robustness of the proposed controller is validated under load perturbations, PnP functionalities. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified through simulations in MATLAB/ Simulink. From the obtained results, it is observed that the proposed controller improves MG performance during both transient and steady state conditions.
