Self-bearing dual stator solid rotor axial flux induction motor (BDSSRAFIM) combines the function of both thrust magnetic bearing and rotating electrical motor. In order to control the axial displacement and rotating speed of solid rotor independently, A decoupling mathematical model of the axial force and torque in the coordinate system is proposed. And the mathematical model is based on the rotor flux orientation. Then a vector control strategy for the axial displacement and the rotational speed is proposed. Finally, both simulation model and experiment setup are built. The results demonstrate that BDSSRAFIM can provide steady levitation and rotation.
