Several all-optical functions have been performed by handling SOA's nonlinearities such as cross-phase modulation (XPM) or cross-gain modulation (XGM). Cross gain modulation analysis have been performed for advanced semiconductor optical amplifier configuration. Experimental results have been done by using two SOAs of 500- and 750-/spl mu/m lengths. The obtained results show that 20-dB on/off gain extinction ratio can be attained over a wide wavelength range from 1510nm to 1545nm.
