A novel image interpolation method based on a nonlinear interpolative subdivision scheme is presented. This algorithm allows us to interpolate images from discrete to discrete with an arbitrary real positive scale. Comparative experiments with several traditional image interpolation algorithms indicate that our method preserves edges to which the human visual system is sensitive successfully. Moreover, corresponding PSNR (peak signal to noise ratio) results are also shown.
